I wondered how these players would view their time here and if they , like Propper , would move on.

Gross ( can see him going back to Germany)
Mac Allister -Spain
Alzate - Spain
Moder - possibly another European league.
Caciedo - can’t see him coming back
Laddy at stoke not setting them on fire
Zequiri - France or Switzerland.
Time for Gross to move on anyway, I think. Laddie at Stoke is injured.

As others have said, we lack a deep lying game changer as well as a top level striking game changer... in other words we lack goals... we’re becoming predictable and easier to play against: stop Trossard, stop Lamptey... stop Brighton. Given that Cucu is fast but with little end product, you can almost leave him alone tbh... Alzate when fit, should play higher for me and we should be looking to give our little Ecuadorian a run too... we’re chronically short on pace centrally, and if we can’t get our WBs up the pitch we’re screwed.

This season is shaping up a bit like CHs last, a good but luckyish start... with performances beginning to translate into results, we’re in trouble... again. Lol.

For what is worth, I think we should be playing as close to this formation and team as possible and actually offer some attacking intent to the opposition:

—————————Sanchez————————-
——-Webster——-Duffy——-Dunk————-
Lamptey——Lallana—Bissouma—-Cucurella
—————————Trossard—————————
——-Maupay—————————Welbeck——-

The problem is, that leaves Mwepu, Groß, Mac Allister, Alzate, Richards and Moder largely redundant. Our squad is incredibly unbalanced with so many non-scoring (but talented otherwise) midfielders filling our ranks.

Given that Wellbeck is out injured for a while and Connolly is on the naughty step then its time to make a decision about Tolaj or Ferguson IMO as we need to find someone who will score..

Nothing like Chris Hughton's last season, we're still half way up the table aren't we!

You cannot play LALLANA and Gros in the same team , we can get away with one player without pace but two no way , I don’t understand why GP can’t see this , it’s not like he has no other options in midfield, plus leaving Maupassant on the bench

GP's starting to remind me of a few bands from the late 60's/early 70's, and not just aesthetically . . . Interesting first album, get a big deal, 2nd is a work in progress, , 3rd ALbum is the critical breakthrough but flops

Would have MacAllister in there on a semi-permanent basis. Proper player. Would be more than happy to ditch the show-pony Bissouma. Where's the goals? Where's the assists? Perfick ManU dud signing IMHO. Pogba Lite

Totally agree

MacAllister should be the first name on the team sheet.Ok,he was awful against Newcastle but so were the rest.of the team.Bissouma has been poor lately'

I would start against Leeds with a flat back four,MacAllister and Lallana in central midfield and Trossard at number 10,his best position

Its a no from me. Easily the best player yesterday.

Wouldnt mind Ali Mac starting but definitely not for Biss.

GP is not the messiah, whilst he has made changes for the better and got results, I'm not sure they outweigh the cataclysmic brain farts he has like yesterday, and a few recently, My guess is he's trying to be too clever when being normal, or even dumb, would get a job done.

I wonder if Hairy Porter has ever played a basic route one . . . Or if he even knows how to do it? Being a smart arse only works some of the time.

I was surprised with Moder’s lack of pace yesterday, he joined our phalanx of slow players.

For the key 15 seconds of the game the Watkins counter attack, it was apparent that the Villa players could destroy him for pace with ease.

Late last season and early this season, I had thought he had everything in his locker.

Age on his side, can a 22 year old gain speed?

Agreed (lol btw) - yep they’ve ditched the brilliant proggy nuances and genre hopping near genius and gone commercial - no more risks, a jaded and pale imitation of that early promise... there’s even a Beatles cover ffs... it’s game over. It’s charity shop £5 curio time - to think the debut fetches 1500 in mint, strewth what went wrong?

Flat back four? No way - we don't have the full backs; both Lamptey and Cucu are out and out wingbacks. Liverpool may get away with playing two CBs and wingbacks - but good as our CBs are, none of them are VVD!
And I certainly wouldn't want to mess about playing players out of position to shoe-horn them into a system they're not suited to.

All about opinions.

Lamptey`s first few games for us were in a flat back four.Cucu has played in that system.Veltman and burn can. This present system is not working we have been sussed out..As Kosh has stated we need to take risks and try something differant.

I am beginning to have serious doubts about Potter as a coach.I hope i an wrong

Agreed re your last sentence

Cucu like Lamptey has pace and can cross, but we never have anyone on the end of it, so it always ends up going backwards. Its like we're afraid to try our luck, everything must be calculated, a lack of spontaneity.

The first name on the team sheet? Ali Mac? do me a favour! scored the odd goal in the few games he has played, but largely flattered to decieve.

And not instead of Gross, Lallana or Moder. Guy wants to put Bissouma on the bench. Not sure if he has adopted Frank Worthingtons drinking habits to justify the nickname.
