Welcome.cheers Trig.
Welcome.
Although I wouldn't be completely shocked if someone comes and corrects me. But I think he was a mill', and we hadn't signed anyone that much before him.
SeeTransfermarkt, says Buckley was 990k..
I thought Buckley was £1 million.
It won't be too long before we have our first £1m per week player...
Was cms after Buckley ?
Our builder (Liverpool supporter) asked me who the Albion's first £1mill signing was.
To my shame, I didn't know but felt like I should. Anyone know this?

I guess you're against capitalism then.I still think what these players are worth and what they earn is ridiculous for kicking a ball around.
But if people are prepared to pay for it so be it. I think a heart surgeon or even a nurse deserves more.
New question .not that I know the answers but which players have broken out transfer records over the years . Andy Ritchie maybe?
Buying or selling
Buying?
Lawro was our first £100,000 fee I think
Maybank arrived a few months later for £175k
Gordon Smith and Michael Robinson were both £400k I believe
The Wardy/Ritchie/Birtles thing was a bit convoluted as values were attached to players rather than cash changing hands.
We must have had one of longest lived records for transfer fee paid, that;s for sure.
