[Albion] Our best ever goal difference in the top flight

You really cant stop yourself can you?

Taking every opportunity to take a dig at TB, staff, players, fans who appreciate the positives. Let me ask you - what did you accomplish in life that makes you so condescending against the club and everyone working within it?

Ohhh the drama, Tony Bloom is my best mate. Amazing how blow-ins who will disappear as soon as we have a management change think they have a right to be all gobby to long-standing Albion fans. Messageboard hoppers really are a comical by-product of the online age, these types wouldn't have existed 15 years ago?

Nah you're totally wrong there.
Stat is one of the least offensive posters on the board.

This is one of the few times when your lack of history on here has let you down.
You'd have to go back a lot further than 2 seasons to assess Stat's "patterns"

Steady on, it's bad enough the other lifers have had too suffer let alone making the here today gone tomorrow types having to wade through my drivel.

I might, just might have let this slide if the most 5/10 season wasn't being portrayed as just 3 off perfection.

This season has been many things, but close to Bo Derek running towards us along the beach it ain't.

It's the ultimate 5 season.
Massive highs.
Deep deep troughs.
Loads of draws.

Some fantastic performances.
Some less so.

The manager has out coached Clipperty et al.
But been humiliated by people not even in work.

5 this season.
One signing away from 7, 8, dare to dream 9 next.

I'm pretty positive about this season gone. As mentioned before : 1 more goal scored and 8 less conceeded. Works for me.

We all know where are deficiencies lie and for 4 seasons it has largely been the defence that has kept us up.

My only worry is that the missing piece of the jigsaw will be the hardest one to solve.

Just have to get it right once.

As the club can pick a centre back before breakfast.
Now seem to be getting there centre mid shit together.
I have high hopes THE centre forward is just around the corner.

Totally agree. In some respect it might just be down to a large degree of luck, in that either a Championship player comes in and has a similar impact to Watkins, or we get another European (lesser known player) who comes in and adapts from the get go. Here's hoping.

Hang on, before I get drawn in to defending your sorry arse again, but so I have a sense of your scale, what is a 0 and what is a 10?

On this season would Sheff Utd represent a 0 for us, so is Man City the 10? Or West Ham the 10? Or Aston Villa the 10? What I am trying to ask is who is Bo Derek on this scale?

edit: why have you even bought the marks for this season onto the thread about GD when there is another thread about marking the season out of 10? :shootself

Swansman might be right afterall...

The whole "being 100 years old and born in a certain location" things are not really making people immune to anything.

No problem with your view on the season, personally my perma-optimistic outlook is prepared to judge the season on the highs of City/Liverpool/Leeds games (and actually both Man Utd performances too)
Rather than the opposite.

I just think Swanny is painting you as something, I have never considered you to be.

There are some proper miserable posters on here and there are others who just love to troll.
You are neither. IMO like.

It's a point worth noting.
If you're going to bother to look beyond actual points and placing (many don't) and don't wish to get involved with xP and such then GD is the place to go, as it has a high correlation with league position.
Though I'd hope anyone who actually watched us would find it patently obvious that we don't seem to be far away from doing a lot better.
Of course we may well not but turning up and finding out is what it's all about.
I mean if you're only going to go to matches you expect to win you'd never get to experience the joy of BDBs giraffe on ice match winning goal against one of the best sides in the world would you?

we finished 16th out of 20, or 8th of ten . . . . so a 3 out of ten ?

for style and expected perforasnce a 5 is generous.

Look at my username and you'll see I'd certainly fail one of those catagories, many of us have been outsiders at one time or other, my point is it's good to have strong opinions on the board - it's what makes this an interesting place - but there's a way of stating those opinions without falling into the trap of bathos or lack of perspective. Which I freely admit I've been guilty of plenty of times. The lad earlier was just making a light-hearted point about goal difference not being a huge indicator of trend, he might be right he might be wrong, but he doesn't have to look back at his life choices by having such a thought in his head
