I understand keeping yourself to yourself, that happens here too, we're not just one big happy family. But if someone says they've been the victim of a crime and asks you to call the police, you should call the police.

I agree. But a big difference between 'should' and actual; sad and depressing it is to say.

Pedant Alert:
Boundary Road where Al Jazeera is located is actually in Hove. Station Road, the west side of Boundary Road is Portslade. Same road, but a different name for each side, each in a different town. So in defence of Portsladians it was a poor show from the people of Hove.

True. The lady I spoke to was really helpful, but it's 2017 FFS, how difficult can it be to have a system where all crimes are reported and the easily accessible by name and date etc? Several times she put me on hold while trying to find any reference to the case.

They are. Case of someone not searching the crime system. It's all pretty integrated.

Have you established where exactly the mugging took place?
Also which direction did the muggers go afterwards?
