If you don't like heights, clean underwear may be required after about ten feet into this walk - if you get that far .

BE SURE TO CLICK FULL SCREEN WHEN YOU GET TO THE SITE

El Caminito del Rey (The King's pathway) is a walkway, now fallen into disrepair, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Álora in Malaga, Spain. The walkway has gone many years without maintenance, and is in a highly deteriorated and dangerous state. It is only one meter in width, and over a 700-meter fall, and over time it has also lost its handrail. Some parts of the walkway have completely collapsed and have been replaced by a beam and a metallic wire on the wall. Many people have lost their lives on the walkway in recent years. After four people died in two accidents in 1999 and 2000, the local government closed the entrances. However, adventurous tourists still find their way into the walkway.

The view and the music are almost like being in a video game...very cool!

Oh yes... Once you get to the website and click the 'Play' button - you must go full screen!! (see example below)

Notice that the guy filming this does not seem to be using the safety cable available !

Stuff that! At one point he overtakes a guy who is using a safety line and carabiner! There are bloody holes in the walkways, and in some places the walkways are just not there! I am fairly happy with heights and scaffolding, etc, but I stopped breathing for some parts of that video!

Oh do come on - there have been people who climb skyscrapers, tightrope walked above NYC, rock-climbed past horizontal overhangs, and base-jumped.
Most of the time here, the cameraman is walking nonchalantly on a concrete walkway that is fairly wide. What's the big deal?

Well I thought the bits where he confidently strode across several girders three inches wide across a rocky crevasse were fairly impressive. It certainly sent the needle twitching on my own personal "f*** THAT-ometer" anyway.

Seems to be holding the camera pretty steady, and is walking along very confidently. That suggests an element of NOCHALENCE to me.
