OT - Is there any way in the UK to trace the owner of a mobile phone?

If you seen other ads with a different number have you tried calling that (not using your own number, which is sounds like he now knows)?

I'm holding back on that call till I can use what could be just one call to good effect (I dont want to alert him to the fact I know that number). His trick when selling big stuff like beds is to bring it to you for approval before putting on the sqeeze, so I would need to plan that carefully.
