My missus does music quizzes for charity and often needs to play a few seconds of a music track.
Can anyone suggest a neat bit of free software to do this sampling?

Cheers

I have something on my Mac called AudioHijack which would work, not sure if you can get it on Windows though. Otherwise a really entry-level audio editor would do the job.

Unless I've missed something that only seems to work with a plugged in device such as a microphone. Cant take from a music file or CD.:(
