Yes I know, but it's reasonably rare, can happen in other breeds, and can happen with working cockers too. If you want a cocker spaniel as a pet, the general advice is to get a show cocker.

I wasn’t trying to worry you trigg! There was a time that it was linked solely to cockers, but as you say, modern research has it linked to other breeds. I guess that its the downside of line breeding. You get amazing dogs generally, but will get the odd wrong’n.

It's cool, I'm not worried. This isn't our first cocker. I just don't think it's correct advice to say get a cocker from working stock, due to rage syndrome.
