With Deeney and Vydra upfront and Forestieri just behind....he'll have failed if Watford don't make the play-offs.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say that he will be a success there. He would have learned a lot from his time at Brighton, including the mistakes – such as the reported dithering over transfers – and will take that into a team that has, seemingly, got a lot going for it.

Good luck to him.

Anyone who boos him or Gus is genuinely mentally retarded.

Speaking as someone who is married to a learning disability nurse, I'm quite sure that the 'mentally retarded' would not automatically boo either. I'm my experience, such a person would be more likely to cheer and have a positive outlook on life.

Do me a favour mate, just refer to idiots as idiots and leave easy targets such as those with autism, downs, microcephalus and other conditions out of it.

If he obeys the dictats of the Pozzos it'll be a toss up between Watford and Derby re who wins the league.

The bloke is a Prick and his stubble is rubbish and he needs to stop drinking Sangria and watching the Flintstones

Cant believe this woooshed people enough to give me thumbs down. I quite like the bloke and think he done well for us considering the team.

Plenty of pace up front will help his `style` that he was going to bring to us.
Unfortunately we didn`t give him the players to suit his style.
Would expect minimum of play offs for Watford this season.

I would have thought top 10 finish would have been good enough

I reckon that's one auto place sorted. I think we are going to see that Oscar is actually a much better manager than most on here give him credit for. He was hung out to dry with the players at his disposal last year, given the injuries and lack of investment in players to suit him. It seems it was not a happy dressing room either with all the alleged Poyet tapping up and miserable Poyet players. Oscar did a great job here under the circumstances, let's see what he does with the right kind of players at his disposal at Watford. Gonna be interesting.

Best of luck to him. Hope he does well with Watford, he was a very good coach and he will suit Watford style of play. Top six here for sure

A lot of hazy memories from some on here. Personally I think Oscar will do okay at Watford, but all of this 'he would have been brilliant here, but we didn't give him the players' is revisionist bullshit.

1. We could have had Gestede, Mason or Conway in January, but Oscar declined all three (changing his mind on Conway at the last minute, when he had commited to Blackburn)

2. Plenty of times, when he DID have attacking options available, he ignored them, and packed the midfield. JFC, Ince and Andrews as a midfield three was common.

Maybe he didn't feel those players suited his style? Maybe the attacking options were quite shit ( they were imo). Anyway time will tell if he is a defensive coach or one who loves to attack. He certainly has the players at Watford, you'd have to have rose tinteds on to think he had them here imo.

*waits for the inevitable " he chose Rodriguez"*
