Seems to go with what I saw as a lack of confidence. Regardless of the geography, you'd imagine he's pretty "safe" there ... speaks volumes

If they don't make the group stages, which given past history, is not a given, he effectively is left with football at a poorer level than what he has just left.

Going somewhere for the possibility of 6 high profile games a season, and chances are he'll only get one Euro giant in a group stage, with the rest being a bit meh is still a cop out if you ask me
