More than a week ago Orkun Kökçü made the final switch from Feyenoord to SL Benfica. When the Turkish international landed at Lisbon airport, Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion still did everything it can to hijack the deal. The rapprochement was of no avail.

When landing at Portela Airport, Brighton & Hove Albion turned out to want to hijack the Benfica deal. Premier League number six had already prepared an offer - using coach Roberto De Zerbi to cross Kökçü - but attempts came too late. Kökçü, shrouded by fans with Benfica scarf, boarded the airport taxi on the Friday night in question and complete the deal completely at Estádio da Luz a day later.
