I don’t think that’s a Dutch thing.
It’s an our recruitment team used to be, putting it generously, Hit and miss (see your list).
Now it is definitely not.
These days Whatever league we sign from, the chances are it will be a decent player.

But some of those were post Winstanley appointment, so not that long ago.
However, as per my post we are in a different market, and I largely agree with your point, I just don’t rate Dutch football particularly.

Clearly Veltman remains one of the bargains of the decade.
