Oh Xmas morning how i love it, the annual lets kick the:censored: out of dad and try to get him out of bed. Then eventually when i get out of bed the frantic opening of the pressies and within 15 minutes my living room looks like its Baghdad after a visit from the allied forces!

ps the answer to the question is as early as possible!

Then drink our way through the day :p

When they get their own kids. It's wonderful watching the grandkids doing what they used to do. :lolol:

I'll look forward to that Yorkie - although not just yet I hope.

Suppose as the saying goes "revenge is sweet".

Blimmin marvellous.

Hmmm, traditionally it has always been

Wake up

Presents from parents in stocking, followed by breakfast consisting of chocolate coins and the contents of a Cadbury's Selection Box. Switch on TV, switch off again when Noel Edmonds appears.

Feel slightly sick from chocolate so eat Doritos or Pringles to counterbalance sweet taste.

Mid morning snack of something festive. Watch The Children of Witch Mountain or whatever dodgy kids movie is on.

Round to rest of family's, pre-meal snacks of smoked salmon stuff and Bucks Fizz or champagne

HUGE turkey lunch, incl sprouts.

Go back for more

Sit impatiently in lounge awaiting opening of presents from rest of family. Eat more chocolate. Finally open presents after long pause for coffee.

Crisps, nuts, more snacks

Queens speechzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Argumentative game of Trivial Pursuit with rest of family. Win.

Christmas cake, tea.

Falling asleep, go back to parents, realise forgot to record important or good programmes.

Watch the one decent comedy on in evening, eat more Pringles, sit through cruddy ITV film, Angus Deayton's Hilarious Christmas Bloopers and the tenth miserable EastEnders episode of the day.

More chocolate, sausages on sticks and Pringles.

Bed.

I love Christmas!

When I was a kid

Wake up at 3:00am annoy parents until about 6:00am.
Open presents
Eat all Liqourice Allsorts by 11:00am - feel sick

Last 5 years
Get up drive 1 hour to Cambridge see family
Drive 1 hour to Simco see nephew in jail
Christmas service in jail (oddly very inspiring)
Drive 1 hour to Holiday Inn hotel where everyone who cannot be bothered to cook in my family goes for dinner.
Drive home where we all sing around the piano
Eat all Liqourice Allsorts - feel sick

At least somethings don't change!

We do it in two stages in my house - stuff we've gotten each other on christmas eve, around 6PM. The first time in that calender year we have the fire on instead of the heating (well, as well as). Then the stuff from "Santa", or once you hit 7 or whatever, from parents any time the next day, be it 3 AM or 4 PM like I woke up at last year...

In my house things were exactly as described by Bozza. My wife's house were "open at 7:00 am" kind of people. I've managed to convert her to the afternoon system.
