Just a thought from previous threads about old folk passing away before they saw Falmer built, how about sending en mass a letter to all those who apposed & delayed the stadium with pictures of Deceased Albion Fans who never got to see it built?
It wont do anything but dig into the hearts & souls of those who were against the stadium especially when it had nothing to do with them in the first place. Maybe then they can realise what bitter twisted runts they really are and maybe they might apologise?!

just a thought like...

OR get something printed in the Argus when the first game is played, a whole page spread of deceased albion fans with the title:
WE GOT THERE...BUT THEY DID'NT...THANKS TO LDC

something like that.....cor i'm FULL of ideas this hungover morning!

Leave it, move on.

I like the sound of it Marc. My Dad would have loved to have seen it built.

Would it not be more appropriate (and positive) to work with the club to have a banner/flag of the club crest made up of pictures of those loved ones we've lost (maybe interwoven with pictures of past players too) that could permanently hang somewhere inside the new stadium?

At least in that way they'll be there with us in spirit.

At bit like this:

It's not just those who have passed away. Some, including my Dad, are now simply too ill to ever attend a match at Falmer (in his case as the result of a stroke). In fact this whole process has taken so long I sometimes wonder whether I will live to see it.

However I don't think such a letter would ever make those responsible for dragging out the planning process for so many long years feel even remotely sorry. I doubt they are able to comprehend how much this club and it's new stadium could mean to its supporters, and even if they could I doubt they would care. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if certain individuals would take some sort of perverse pleasure in knowing they have denied so many people their chance of ever seeing Falmer.

My father and father in law, both great Albion fans will never see Falmer but I am not sure that the Falmer and Lewes opponents of Falmer will understand why we feel so bitter about the delays that they caused. As far as they were concerned they were protecting their village and / or the downs, using perfectly legal means. They lost the battle and have to accept the fact that the stadium is now being built, well at least the roads. As the stadium rises from the ground that is the best tribute to those we have lost. As my Dad would say, "What's done is done. Get on with life"

Worthing
If there is any truth in what I`ve been hearing about funding for Falmer then most of us wont be seeing the place before we collect our pensioners if at all.
