We need to sell Hammond if he's not going to sign. Just get anything for him. Then, use that to buy a winger. Sorted.

Who would we like in though because the winger from Watford we were looking at has gone to Swindon and I don't thing the Currie deal will ever happen
I haven't got a clue. But we pay Wilkins and White each week to know about football, so hopefully between them they know of a few more wingers than I do! I'm not convinced Currie is the sort of winger we need anyway. I think what we lack is a pacy player who runs at defenders. The sort of player I would look for is a Paul Brooker. Obviously not HIM, but someone who is the same type of player, ie a bit of a tart but capable of beating his man and causing a bit of panic in the opposition defence.
We can't sell him if HE WON'T SIGN for another club yet. It's HIS choice now, not ours. Please, please understand this quite important fact when saying that the club MUST sell him.
What if he doesn't get sold... and we do very well in the 2nd half of the season... perhaps even a play off place... would be still go? Who knows?
True. If I was him I'd see out the rest of the season. So what we need is a very rich, very stupid club who are prepared to make Hammond the classic 'offer he can't refuse' - and give us a whopping great fee, well over his value (say £300k) into the bargain. Why should they do it now rather than wait until the summer? Well because if they wait he might not be available, so if they want this future England international they must act NOW.We can't sell him if HE WON'T SIGN for another club yet. Also, another factor I have against Currie is age. I know he's never been quick etc etc, but he is 34. In all likelihood, we won't go up this season, so we're building a team for next season. Do we really want 35 year old wingers as part of a promotion push?
