However, Andronikou believes the deduction is not necessarily inevitable and hinted he may ask the league to withhold the punishment.
"I understand everyone is taking it for granted we are going to be docked the nine points. It is something I need to broach with the Premier League and then look to start talking about parachute payments," he said.
"I need that to be confirmed during the course of the week. We need to go through the formal process. I think it's early days to be talking about deducting the nine points.
"It is the rule at the moment but we are the first Premier League club to have gone into administration so let's just test the rule," he added.

Its all f***ing wrong.

The seaside.
Would seem that way:

Figures announced for the year 2008-09, the club's first season in the Premier League, show the Potters made a net profit of £503,000 at the end of the last trading year, after transfers, and had an increased turnover of £54m – up from £11m in their last season in the Championship

Sounds lovely. Those were the sort of figures we (Charlton) were given at the end of every season during our decade in the PL sun. The moment we got relegated we were suddenly told we were £46 million in debt. Despite cutbacks, sales (Darren Bent to Spurs for 17m et al), our debt three years on remains pretty much the same. And now, neither Visa nor Mastercard will allow their credit cards to be used to buy one of our fund-raising 5-year season tickets, as they would be liable to repay a percentage of that back if we went under during the five years (and they obviously think, probably quite rightly, that we will) which just about sums it up. The line between profit and debt on football balance sheets is mighty mighty thin...

I feel pretty sure Portsmouths books must have shown a hansome profit about 4 times this year when it changed hands?
