A sporting event with 17000 and the train companies dont plan for the need for extra trains, so people have to leave early. Not good enough, no excuses, just get it sorted out.

That is pretty rubbish from the train company. Good communication from the club though.

Its simple really, set the timetable to match the demand, not set a timetable and say tough. Shuttle trains for football days. They were told about this and done the usual, naff all. "No Use Rushing", nowt has changed

But tonight's services are okay locally, I think the announcement was for services further afield perhaps??

So trains tonight for those interested, departing Falmer for Brighton:
22.27 / 22.38 / 22.47 / 23.02 / 23.16 / 23.27 / 23.39 / 23.44

Falmer for Lewes:
22.28 / 22.34 / 22.44 / 22.53 / 23.16 / 23.34 / 23.44

Yeah, me, I got them off the National Rail Enquiries website. I'm thinking that the leave early must have been those for going further afield, last train to London Victoria is 22.28, although you can get to London Bridge on the 23.16.

Not sure there is any need for the doom merchants to start even before people are leaving!!

Who cares who's ground it is? The train company have thousands of customers that want to use their train. Only company in the world at the moment who doesnt seem to want the custom. Shuttle trains , get it sorted, no excuses.

That seems perfectly acceptable.

Makes sense now.
Is the last Victoria train usually that early? I'm sure they usually run later than that, at least i'm 99% i've got trains back much later than that from away games in London.

To me as well. Can't believe there are people sat at home on here moaning about transport which hasn't even started yet! Bloody hell, we've just won 1 nil against a decent Prem side, and people are slating the transport before it's even started.

You get some quirks in the timetable I suppose when the system has to give you 10mins for a change when in reality you probably can get a service at East Croydon to Victoria. To be honest, I was shocked there are so many services on so late tonight. Looks a good effort to me.
