OFAH should have been left alone for good after they became millionaires and walked off into the sunset, that was probably (an admittedly distant) second only to Blackadder Goes Forth as a perfect ending.

Everything since has done nothing but tarnish its legacy, and this will more than likely be no exception.

Agree 100% with every word, Frutos.

Would simply add that The Office Christmas special is also another example of how to end a series perfectly.

Blackadder Goes Forth as a perfect ending.

Was that the one in the trenches of the first world war where they went over top?

Remember watching that, and as they did it, i thought this ain't funny, this is supposed to be a comedy and be funny, not realising at the time of course that was the whole point.

Yup, as seen here:

This episode was the first time I ever saw anything of Blackadder, we were shown it in a Year 9 history lesson as part of our work on the First World War, and it's stuck with me ever since. My history teacher said when we watched it that she'd lost count of how many times she'd seen it, yet still cried every single time.

Brilliant work by all concerned, and the fading off into a field of poppies to finish is just perfect.

Couldn't agree more Mr F.

I first saw blackadder in history a few years back (im only 15) and thought it was awesome so brought the dvd. A quality ending even if it is sad

I am a massive ofah fan but am very worried by this, agree with Frutos' post. Also agree that the endings to Badder, Office and also extras are all superb.

No. No you aren't.

his voice, for whatever reason, grates with me, especially the documentaries on archeolgy, time teams i think it is. he did a doc on the freemasons and the lost symbol book, and for me it was awful. program could have been ok, he ruined it. personal opinion of course

one of my lecturers HATES him with a passion, with the word "wanker" commonly used to describe him - something to do with an overinflated ego, which lead to him kicking off in a supermarket over the fact there were no peas in stock with the line "no peas, dont you know who i am". despite the fact he was rumoured to have ended up in the FREEZER after this altercation, there was a ban on reporting it in the local newspaper!

needless to say, this has lead to the attatching of various photos of tony onto her office door on a regular basis
