fair enough, but did those ticket count towards that away supporters figure? what corner were you in please?

No it didn't count to the number, the ticket guy made a point of saying it was home ticket when he printed it yesterday. I was in the East and could see the Reading fans on the left end of the Lower West as I looked at it.

EDIT:Said right should have been left end (South End)

Just a bit confused when my mate presented away printed tickets... thanks :)

8,000 would have been a full withdean, this just shows us how far we have come. The stadium was empty, but the north still made a good noise from where I was in centre of west. Imagine a 1/3 full withdean. I thought we played well with some massive positives, You couldn't tell who was premiership. From what I could make out, Gus was also trying a plan b in the second half of hoofing it from goal kicks, made it clear to dunk and Greer that they had to move to the centre and allow Thomas to clear. My son got Tommy's, Lua Lua and CMS's autograph so he was happy. Only downside was a jobsworth steward not allowing us to go next to the tunnel, due to it being reserved for friends and family...it remained empty the whole game

say what you like 8000 is a joke and he only got 15 minutes on a night that was supposed to be all about him according to gus

First post but fair comments. Lots of the JCL's / JCB's probably don't even know who he is let alone care about his testimonial.

Still, he was very emotional and seemed to enjoy it anyway.

I enjoyed it. If we'd sold out the Withdean with 8,000 for a friendly / testimonial everyone would be wetting their pants.
Kuipers made a cracking save and was really emotional.

My only concern is the stadium - there seems a lot of work to be done? I know not all of it will be done in the next 2 weeks. It's
alot more extensive than I thought. It will look really good when its done. I presume they are new 1901 boxes going in the South?

8170 in the end. Shame he didn't get a full half.

Thought it was nice for most of the attendee's to make it a withdean atmosphere and be quiet. Credit to the north stand for making michel's night.

The club can't win really can they? Most people were moaning that they don't like testimonials but when they take the match as a serious pre-season work-out people still don't like it. Michel seemed happy enough. He got to take his bow. Good night all round.

i hope those that bought a programme enjoyed my semi homoerotic ramblings...

Phil Hadland! :lolol: That genuinley made me giggle. Paul Brooker was astonishingly brilliant. Apart from bottling it at Palace and getting sent off to spare himself the atmosphere. Grr. Other than that, what a man.

Given that FDM was our keeper at Wthdean, when we only had crowds of 7,000 during the time he was there, it was a fair turnout.

Wiley sung a song of some kind, he did not play for either team though in goal of any other position

Any idea what time? I got to the ground unfathomably early due to the person I was with being all aquiver at seeing his Rolexness, think they felt a bit duped. Karma doubled back and slapped me in the face when I ended up paying £1 a minute for his naval Dutchness's appearance.

Gus had also said at various times that he was taking it as a serious pre season game and would play a strong team. I thought he had said Kuipers would get to play for a little while at the beginning as well
