I'm due to move to Brighton in the next couple of months & will find myself without an established social circle. Meeting females in such circumstances may prove to be a difficult task.

I've considered pre-empting the situation by joining online dating sites. The plan is to do the ground work now, join sites & upload profile, establish contact with potential candidates so I can hit the ground running as it were when I arrive in Brighton.
I have no experience in this field & wondered if any board members could offer advice or tips on the matter.

I'm obviously hoping for a looker but if I'm unable to turn 1 up after awhile I'll settle for some piece who has a face like a clumsy bee keeper as long as she doesn't rabbit too much.

The dating sites I've considered are

http://www.girlsdateforfree.com./ (it seems girls do but lads don't)
http://www.plentyoffish.com/inbox.aspx
http://tangowire.com/
http://www.faceparty.com/

In addition details of a local venue where I can get a drink without being Id'd would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Why, are you interested?

Well, I do like to keep my options open. But no, it was more this; "In addition details of a local venue where I can get a drink without being Id'd would be greatly appreciated."

Plenty Of Fish... dead easy site and on the whole some very nice people. I met my current gf there and things are going great.

To be fair though there aint that many 17 years old on there.. it seems better for 25-35 range IMO

If you don't mind me asking, why are you moving to Brighton? If your moving for work or education your meet people straight away there, no need for dating sites when your 17 fella.

Moving because of my Dad's job. I had the choice of staying up here but thought I'd give the move a go, if it doesn't work out I can always move back up North (nothing ventured nothing gained).

My initial plan was to enrol at College but my parents move was delayed so thats a non starter for this year. I'll try to land a job when we have a fixed move date.

Took the plunge and uploaded my profile.

Not Luton! Thank God
Without intending to be rude, instead of getting a girlfriend you should get a "life" instead.

If you all you have is a girlfriend but no other pasttimes or activities you'll eget very bored. Find a job and some good things to do (sports clubs etc) and you'll probably end up mixing with eligible females

You should be concentrating on making friends and having a healthy and active social life and through that then make a girlfriend, not find one from the Internet, especially at the age of 17. Anyone whose a remotely positive happy outgoing person will not want to date a friendless person in the first place.

I have friends, it's just that they live in Yorkshire & not in Brighton.

Well make friends in Brighton then before you worry about girlfriends, you're 17 you should not be needing to meet ropey girls off the Internet, you should be doing that down oceanas or something.
