What sites do people use for Online betting?

I'm thinking of giving it a go to try and make the Euro's a bit more interesting. I see Betfair offer to credit your first £25 worth of bets. Are they a good site to use?

I'd give this site a detailed look around if you want to start betting, if you read the threads you can do something called "matched betting" whereby you take a small loss but then you guarantee yourself various bonuses.
If you have a fairly good bankroll you can easily make yourself a few hundred quid (if not more) in your first week alone.
The newbie/intro threads would be the best place to start.

How soon is now?
In order to get the £25 from Betfair you need to put £25 in - simple enough. The mistake I made is putting my mobile number down as contact details. I reckon on 1 to 2 calls a week from them offering me advice on how to spend more money with them(or, maximise the benefits of my account, in the words). So beware of that.....
I miust remember that next time they call I need to tell them to never call me again or i'll close my account... I only use it because a mate has a horse and its generally good for an each way flutter

oddschecker shows the odds at various online bookies, i have a few accounts at diffrent places never leave any money in them but if they offer the best odds deposit the money and place it on the given event. if it wins deposit in my bank straight away so not to 'forget' about money in any accoutns

If you are an entirely casual, "fun" punter with no interest at all in prices, the flexibility to back or lay, or being able to trade out of a good or bad position, then it doesn't really matter who you sign up with in the long run, as you are just another bit of bookie fodder.

If, on the other hand, you want to play on as flat and punter-friendly a playing field as possible, Betfair is the only answer.

Pick your "winners", then buy beer with what you would have wasted on gambling.

I use Betfair and Bet365 most often.

Edit: Be sure to check whether you get quidco for signing up.
