The article in the Argus appears to point out it is not a lump sum.

Albion have lost Captain Andrew Crofts to Norwich City but gained £6000 per appearance for his services.

The £300,000 seems to be based on his 50 appearances for us. That's the way I read it. So could be good or maybe not.

Don't think it says that at all just pointing how much every appearance was worth, nothing about not being a lump sum payment

I work with a Gillingham fan - and basically they didn't have a choice but to let him go for nothing. He kept getting loaned out because they couldn't afford the £5k a week wages they had him on (he signed his contract when they were in the Championship!).

But yes - it must still be gutting all the same
