IMHO. About to start in 15 minutes on BBC1. I've seen it loads of times, and never tire of watching it.

Why oh why did I stay up and watch it? Got to bed about 1.30, and up again at 5.45. Bloody knackered now and having serious trouble staying awake at my desk.

I went to a freebie preview of SherryBaby last night. It was a mildly disturbing tale of prison-release, drug addiction and redemption, probably best suited to tv-moviedom of the mid-80s, but was a half-decent, bubbling performance from Maggie Gyllenhaal. If anyone wants to watch her taking it feverishly from behind or having her chests groped by her dad, then go for it.

Is The Sting actually worth a watch? Always looks like a bit of a yawnfest and I normally last about ten minutes before switching it off.

It is worth a watch but you do have to watch to see all the twists and turns, the 'sting' is in the tail.

It's not a film you can have on in the background and just dip into and yet it's fairly light and the characters are watchable.

great film - for years i thought it was a comfortable bit of nothing set in the 20's - i then watched it by chance one night and was blown away by it.
