One for NSC twitchers

Heard an airborne kerfuffle earlier and looked up to see the seagulls going mental flying around and trying to see off a bigger seagull; the big one was well over 50% bigger than the normal ones we get here in Eastbourne. It also had a really deep cry.

I know it's vague and a photo would have helped but can anyone tell me what it was ?

We've got gulls nesting on our roof,3 chicks this year,it fascinates me watching them grow,miserable old TWUNT next door don't like it but she can **** off back to Birmingham if she doesn't like sea birds.

Could have been a Heron, I've seen a big mob of Seagulls seeing off a Heron in Seaford, i have seen this happen a few times but always inland and not over the sea or beach.

Was probably a greater black backed gull. About 50% bigger than the more common black headed gulls.
