Why is Gough being selected (pre-injury). He sems rather expensive agianst the likes of Broad and Plodder Lewis which is an indictment in itself.

He has had his six years of fame.

Kirtley, Kirtley, Kirtley.

why is monty panasar overlooked for the one-dayers?

is there proof that he'd be shit?

the way i see it is that in the one-dayers we aren't taking enough wickets, allowing the opposition to build large partnerships

we need a STRIKE BOWLER

Being one of the most consistent English one-day bowlers for over a decade probably has something to do with it.

Very good Grendel. So if he is not performing currently that still swings it does it? I love your use of dry sarcastic cynicism.

It's something of an irrelevance as he won't be playing in the current series again, but Gough has played decently at county level this season and has had one average game for England in the series. Much as I admire your loyalty towards Kirtley, the selectors are going to go with a man has a bowling average of just over 26 at ODI level rather one who average over 50.

Thanks. I have no loyalty for Kirtley proffered for your admiration but I do have a healthy disrespect for selections based on career span averages as opposed to the reality of current form.
