At some shitty pub quiz in a shitty pub in shitty Bognor compered by a shitty barman, they insisted that this character was called Fingerbob.

I complained till I was blue in the face that the show was Fingerbobs but the character was Fingermouse. Oh no, he insisted, with a smarmy, punch-magnet smile, that’s Fingerbob.

Twenty years ago. Still fuming.... :D

Now deceased as Rick Jones admitted he drowned it in a glass of water after the last filming.

Edit - just looked it up and it was cold coffee

Summer holidays TV was always such excitements as Robinson Crusoe, White Horses, Heidi, Banana Splits, Why Don't You.... The first 3 were foreign language shows with dodgy voice overs and RC and WH were in black and white. Marvellous.

I can instantly sing 3 of those theme tunes

Have a decent stab at one. (think glory hunter doing GOSBTS)

Leaving Degrassi which I assume was on ITV

Jamie and the Magic Torch was epic as well.

Red Hand Gang was just "La la la, la la la....lalalala la la la"

I think in the Seventies the BBC had the best preschool shows - Flumps; Trumpton etc; Bagpuss; Ivor; Mr Men; Bod - but ITV had the best shows for older kids:

Soldier & Me
The Doombolt Chase
A Bunch of Fives (way better than Grange Hill)
The Siege of Golden Hill
The Paper Lads
Children of the Stones
Sky
The Tomorrow People
Pauline's Quirke's
The Freewheelers
Robert's Robots
Pardon My Genie

and Magpie was better than Blue Peter (although I watched both)

I loved it as a kid, but bought the DVD about 15 years ago and only got through three episodes.

Charlton and the Wheelies, on the other hand, is epic at any age.

I bought a DVD of Trapdoor a few years ago. Still brilliant (but admittedly I am easily amused).

Pole Position was my 'have a decent stab at' intro.

Hobo, Bod and Jamie - naturally.

I also miss countered, but couldn't do the RHG anyway.
