Gary Moore has died

Yet another one who won't see Falmer :(

(Can't say I cared too much for his power blues style but obviously a talented guy).

Any news on what cause of death was. Would be very surprised if drugs were involved because his short but memorable tenure in Lizzy was because he lost patience with Lynott and Gorham's over indulgence and Robbo and his booze.

Absolute disaster for modern blues/rock as we know it. Let's not all jump on the bandwagon re drugs involvement (some of us anyway!).
This untimely death leaves a big hole, which hopefully can be filled by the likes of upcoming national and local artists such as Ben Poole, Dani and Will Wilde.
Pity so much us made of the mainstream " big single" , which we all remember him for, but delve further into his back catalogue for gems like the one I've just played, 'Keep on Working' from Snowy White's 'Highway to the Sun' album.
Sad to see that the obituary in today's Times makes no reference to his 'Scars' album.
Sorry to appear like an anorak, but having done a blues/rock radio snow for ten years in France, Gary featured a hell of a lot and I feel a tremendous sense of loss akin to the passing of Stevie Ray Vaughan. RIP matey.

Another legend never to be witnessed live again.

Could'nt beleive it when I saw he had died .
I saw him a few times both with Lizzy and on his own.
My overbiding memory of his music was in 1984 , lying on the grass on a very hot day at Castle Donington in mid afternoon sun , suitably refreshed by this time , and finding myself totally immersed in the man's own special brand of blues .
Perfect festival music for a hot day , especially as it had pissed down the previous 4 years.

RIP Gary
