We have an alternative full-country postal service for businesses to use (but delivers to consumers); think its only really possible due to the size of the country. They don't use any form of downstream access; its their own delivery staff.

If anything, it has caused the cost of consumer post to RISE as the main full-service postal company has had to offset the cheaper rates they can charge businesses to compete.

It is not rocket science, just see R.M. fading away mainly due to the posturing of a trade union, like so many others whose hierarchy are so remote from reality, that they cannot see beyond their own 'Union' pensions.
My opinion on our Union has changed a full 180 degrees, to the point of agreeing with this.

There's so much good work that the union has done and protected the staff, which has been thrown away on the shop floor by selfish, self serving idiots, who can't see beyond the end of their nose (maybe that's my just office).

We've had massive changes over the last 5 years, everyone that is pro staff, has been taken on board.
Everything deemed 'management' is ignored, and the staff who work within the correct structure are vilified.

It's shocking behaviour made worse by the complete incompetence of the managers.

It's come to a point where I'm hoping for privatisation just to see how many staff go off with 'stress'.

To wish for privatisation is crazy, the very terms and conditions that have brought you a good standard of living will slowly but surely be eroded away, don't forget that your union has been fighting for the past few years to keep them as RM mangement has repeatly tried to push you to the same pay as the private companies. You really want their pay and conditions?

No of course I don't.
But what I do want is a wake up call to the idiots, who will leave everyone with nothing, all the time they act like petulant toddlers.

My immediate reaction was that I'll have to send fewer Christmas cards. My second was that charities will lose out at Christmas as fewer cards are purchased. this has knock on effects beyond the RM.
