Great to see Lamptey bombing forward and getting his pace back. Can't help thinking though that if he played his position we wouldn't have let those 2 goals against us so easily?

I was really impressed by the players today, to be able to comeback from 2-0 down shows good signs of resilience amongst the team.

It isn't easy doing that in Marseille, the fans intentionally make the atmosphere hostile, but the players kept composed and played well against the French CL winners.
Whereas at the Amex, we make them comfy and relaxed.

Well glad we drew but have to think we need more going forward, if we hadn’t of got that pen we’d of lost.
Yep, I'm sure that this is a good step forward for the team - not only in Europe, but for the PL as well.
We had a few disappointing results but the attitude of the players to bounce-back was impressive, and if we continue that for Liverpool it should be good.
There were some signs of concern, but plenty of positives as well, got to just support the players - they will need us.

Not read the match thread but RDZ really needs to find a plan B for how we start games when players are not drawn into the press. The passing and challenging in the first half was lacklustre League One quality, absolute shite

So much better in the last 15 of the first half and the second

Plan B should be the keeper and CBs chucking the ball wide towards Estupinan, Lamptey, Mitoma and Adingra. Their speed, first touches and dribbling are good enough to create havoc even when the opponent sits back or plays man-to-man. Have them send crosses in the box, again and again and again.

Plan C is pairing Baleba and Gross in midfield, with March and/or Gilmour on either side. Good balance of strength, tackling, guile and passing. Shoring up the middle with at least 3 two-way players would take sooo much pressure off the defense, which really isn't as bad as it seems.

..

Barber’s already selected their guest wines for the away concourse, a selection of charcuterie and the concourse to be lit in light blue LED’s. No one will be properly searched for pyrotechnics.

We're the PL top scorers. We've also just got some kind of record for most games in row without failing to score. The problem is at the other end.

Hope we can take the spirit from the second half performance to Liverpool on Sunday. Team showed character

I really hope that Welbeck opportunity (when he should have squared it to Fati) doesn't end up costing us a place in the top 2.
