Been looking to get one of these for the last couple of months. Probably going to be one of the 2018 LG models.

Anyone got one and any recomendations ones to avoid? Is screen-burn still an issue?

Worth waiting until Black Friday?

I think I have a 2015 LG OLED model, and it is a still fantastic picture, no screen burn. It's not ultra HD, but still very sharp, and the blacks are, well very black.

My Dad has a recent model in ultra HD and absolutely loves it.

I bought mine as a refurb model, and like I said, after 4 years I've not had any issues or complaints.

The history of OLEDs is that they were expensive to make and many manufacturers dropped them from their lineup, so around 2014/15 it was only LG making them. The technology has picked up so that the main manufacturers have them at the front of their lineups again, but it's LG who have had more time to iron out faults etc. If I was buying again, think I would go LG for that reason.

I don't think that's quite right. LG owned the rights to make them in a specific way, and it was better than the methods the competitors used, so the competitors marketed their LED LCDs instead. Other companies can use LG panels, to make use of the LG technology.

I have an LG OLED that I got 3 maybe 4 years ago as a warranty replacement for a Samsung UHD that kept breaking. It's still going strong today, no burn at all. Would recommend LG highly. Going to replace it soon with a bigger one (it's 55 so not small) and migrate it into the 'snug' and get a bigger LG for the main lounge.

Clearly you want TV to be facing away from sunlight.

But, if you are TV fan, then I would say go for the LG. You wont regret it

Yes the C8 was the one I will probably go for. About £1300 at the moment so hopefully may come down in the next couple of months.
