Portslade & West Hove

Throughout my 30 years i've never ever heard it called 'Portslade & West Hove'... but having just googled it, it appears that it IS it's actual name! I'm stunned... I always thought West Hove was a made up name to site another made up name (Benfield Valley) after Sainsburys was built there. That Sainsburys is actually officially called 'Sainsburys, West Hove'... but West Hove is not part of any official postal address

Throughout my 30 years i've never ever heard it called 'Portslade & West Hove'...

Hove Station was originally called Cliftonville and West Brighton.

It was changed to Hove and West Brighton in 1893 and only became Hove in 1895.
