This is a post card with my Granddad, indicated with a cross, from bottom left corner, four people along and four up.

Humanity hit a key stage in evolution.

We started to see colour.

I believe this was taken at the Goldstone in either the 1921/22 or 1922/23 season.

The gentleman in the military uniform in the second row, a couple in from the left, is my great-grandfather.

Everyone in the picture wearing a Hat.

Me too! I'm about where I've circled. Must have been quite close to each other although IIRC it was quite tightly packed in there with proper surges on the goals and a bit of a crush to get on the pitch afterwards.

That guy is Jack Robson, the secretary (manager) - Wikipedia - Jack Robson

The goalkeeper is Robert "Pom Pom" Whiting - The Final Whistle: Robert 'Pom Pom' Whiting and The Charity Shield winners who made Brighton champions of England

The first photo shows, with a blue dot, the players who were killed in WW1, Robert Whiting being one of them. The second photo shows Robert on the extreme right.
