Bumped into an old flame (no, not a candle from Lewes!) & we chatted for the 1st time in near 40 years.

I spotted her and summoned the courage to say 'hi' then, on a smile of recognition, we chatted for 5 mins or so about our lives, kids, parents, marital status and such before we had to part.

Two things I wonder though. Did she remember me, would she know my name? And how strange that I knew her when she was at a youger age than my eldest grandaughter is at now!

If you chatted for 5 minutes I'd imagine she'd remembered you!

Ile Nastase in his youth had a thing for older women; a few years ago in an interview, he said that the oddest thing about being [in his late 50s is he?] was that most of the women he'd slept with were now dead.

Have to say that many people talk to me, greeting me like long lost best friends and it's sad to admit that I don't have a clue who they are.

Of course, I don't mean anybody here because I know you all intimatly!

Only 23 and I suppose im on pretty good terms with all my ex's due to meeting at school/college, and hanging out with the same people, so if and when I bump into them, generally have a good catch up

I feel that just because your not having sex with someone, doesn't mean you can be civil, I mean, I knew them before going out with them, so don't see the point in holding a grudge

Happened a couple of times Edna, and their current squeeze was around. I don't think their attempted improvement had paid off. But then I would think that, wouldn't I? Maybe they looked at me and thought, I didn't did I?

No, she wasn't from school, I don't think I had much hope back then!

Thanks for the amusing comments all, it's what I was hoping for! Oh, and she didn't like football and I even missed an away game once for her, back in the day when I'd never miss a game.

From what you've said I'm guessing you've not lived with, owned a house with, etc. these exs? Breaking up with someone and then having to sort out all that mess afterwards can leave you feeling rather bitter towards them...

The fact you chatted for 5 mins is good, if she did not want to speak to you she would have not have returned your wave, making out she didn't know you. Did you get her number?...Sounds like you could be in there Freddie and if she is married, even better. Means she would be happy with just a quick tumble...

We were never suited anyway, she didn't like football.
