Love all the old photos! Bit of a long shot but does any have anything showing Buckingham Road in the 1930s or 40s?

Just looking at that picture of "Daddy Long-legs" - the single lifeboat that probably managed 10 - they weren't very good back in those [Titanic] days of getting this H&S aligned.

There were lifebelts and also, I believe, life rafts. Anyway, it was safe enough - my Grandma had a ride on it and survived!

My Daughter sent me these. Haven't seen them before.
I have always been interested in the arches along Kings Road and what came first, the arches or the buildings lining Kings Road. My property is 7 floors high with a basement below the pavement level. This basement has what would seem to be a main entrance to the building that connects via an arch straight on to the beach. But in these drawings that arch doesn't exist yet.

Star & Garter was more recently Dr Brightons and beyond that is now the Jurys Inn.

My property looks to be the secong one in from the far end. Clearly no arches.

Same again here. There are now arches under the road at the Queens Hotel.
