I recall my late grandmother hated the sight of the "Brighton General" and refused to go in there as she could recall when it was still in use as "the workhouse" and the horrific lives that the inmates had to endure just because they were poor.

This is new to me and I thought I'd seen everything. When do you think this was taken? Is this still the line but the beach has covered it up now? Just checked on Google Earth. This picture was taken at the entrance to the ramp at Dukes Mound. The beach is now very wide and the line is now at beach level.
