I used to work in St James St in 1976. I kept friends with a few lads and lasses who remained working there long after I left. Somewhere in the back of murky old memories I think I’m right in recalling that there was either some armed robbery or similar at Quincies around late 70’s. But I could well be wrong.

I boycotted Forfars after signing the "Ban the Bun" petition when the Cuttress family who owned it and lived in Falmer village, campaigned against the new stadium, even though they were very pro-Albion before Falmer came in to the equation.
The Pizza parlour there now I can highly recommend. Give the "Revenge" pizza a go!

Love that old pic. Half way up Richmond Street is a break, I was told to stop horses and carts descending the lot out of control. My mum lived in Richmond Street as a kid.

The bridge had gone by the time I started at the junior school in 1974. And the buildings had gone too. Was there a fire? By the mid 70s, it was just a cleared site.

To cross the road, we had to walk up to the hospital to use the zebra crossing (or risk a beating by crossing the road)
