I was Portslade County Infants Schools plumber from the seventies onwards (called Brackenbury now)The building next to it going up the hill was St Nicholas CE school in which I also worked.

Nah. fog of memory my friend. The North Stand roof was off before then. Certainly for the 80/81 season. I've seen a video of the Man City game in the October.

West St - The house owned by Henry Thrale and his wife. In the 18th century, they played host to many literary guests, including Dr Johnson. There are seven tie-posts for horses outside the house. One of these is still in place.

Bit of a long shot, has anyone got any old postcards/photos of the Arcadia Cinema? My paternal grandfather was the organist/pianist there in the 1930s. He also used to play for the ice skaters at the Dome if anyone has photos of that from a similar time. Thank you!
