I sat next to him on the train from St Pancras to Margate about ten years ago.

I was itching to say 'Hey, you're Billy Childish' to him.

But he was busy reading, so I left it.

The first time I met Billy Childish he threatened to punch me over a wall. I just laughed. My late brother - and I still have no idea how this most implausible of things came to pass - financed Billy Childish and his first band The Pop Rivets first album out of my bruv's backdated dole payments. Even more curious, bruv professed to hate Billy Childish and indeed heckled him and his band at every opportunity. Tho I guess there was a deeper bromance going on in there somewhere. Strange daze indeed

He’s a pompous ********, absolutely full of himself and so, so contrary…

Talented though, and has made some absolute blinding records, just repeats himself quite a lot.

As for his art, oh god, bring me a box of matches….

Those loveable rouge’s The Drop Kick Murphys,
Happy to say they were in Camden about 15years ago and gobbing off in the Elephant’s Head, on queue rockabilly “one punch Tony” from Southend laid the lead singer out, with one punch….

The only time I’ve enjoyed seeing them.
