What's that phrase again ?.....if you're tired of London you're tired of life.
Too many spoilt brats in this world with too many 'things' and too little imagination. Always wanting to sit back and be entertained and then sneer with a - " Is that all you've got".
So in answer to your original question - NO
I love every world cup finals, and I've watched them all, from vague memories of '74 to now.
Seemed to be a very poor tournament to me. The final was an outrageously poor game, such a shame on an occasion when football is received by an even wider audience than usual.
What it shows again though is that the best players in the world definetely does not produce the best football!
There is more to football than painting your face, wearing a silly costume, and blowing a big horn.
Football fans know that.
FIFA and media companies do not.
Blimey, I'm in a tiny minority, I think it's been great and I shall be sad to get back to the boring old domestic football.
Regarding England, we all knew we weren't favourites but I genuinely believed we had a 'puncher's chance'. However having watched probably about 80% of the games I now realise we didn't really have even that, and like Danny Seagull I'm a bit embarrassed to even admit it. We've got a few good players (we all know who they are) who could probably force their way into the German, Dutch, Spanish or Argentinian squads (but not the starting XIs) but we also had far too many players who the likes of New Zealand and Australia would think twice about. A 'curates egg' was the old-fashioned expression.
