both good. what is the problem with the slow one?

It's boring, it sounds like a funeral song and it isn't the way it used to be sung. It was never sung at the Goldstone, it came about in the Withdean years, so let's leave it there. The old style Albion is so much better.

ive no doubt palace sang this in 38 bc,but i think it has possibilitys..

And you said
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving

You're on the road and now your plane has gone
The road behind was rocky
But now you're feeling cocky
You look at me and you'll see your past
Is that the reason you're running so fast?

obviously words need tweeking

We did it

We did it

We did it

We got Falmer

To the tune of Dora the Explorer.

Not to keen on the lyrics you've gone with but I do think this has potential. Everyone knows the tune, could work.

as I said, sadly not very good at that kind of thing but thought the tune could work.

What about

Old Gus poyet had a team
E I E I O
And on that team was mackail smith
E I E I O
With a hat trick here and a hat trick there
Here a goal there a goal everywhere there's more goals
Old Gus Poyet had a team
E I E I O

And on that team was Gordon Greer
E I e I o

Etc :) maybe not original but would be a laugh

I've come back home.
Gus Poyet! ( in the tune of yesterday by The Beatles)

Gus poyet
Championship football seemed so far away
Now it looks as though it's here to stay
Oh I believe in Gus Poyet

I like this alot but it is a bit slow and my not be easy to join in mid sing-song but hey lets give it a go anyway!

"it's fun to play at the
A-M-E-X
It's fun to play at the A-M-E-X
you can have good beer
you can watch Gordon Greer
you can cheer on all our boys! etc".

Excellent! the irony and possibility for mass crowd arm movements above head just is too good to miss. I can actually imagine this being sung...dum dum dum dum A M E X...A M E X. ha ha ha! love it!!!!

Brighton, oh Brighton, oh Brighton said I
I will stand at Falmer, till the day I die
take me down the south coast, way down by the sea
and I will follow Brighton & Hove Albion FC...

Passionate and descriptive and semi-original. This would be great belted out at a decent (slow) pace with top lyrics as well.

The one that has been going through my head (i have posted on other threads) is 'Hollywood Nights', Bob Seger:

At those Brighton games,
In the Southdown hills,
The future looks bright
for the Seaagulllsss...

I have thought of 2 songs both by brighton bands 1st seaside by the kooks which goes do you want to go to the seaside, I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go, I fell in love at the seaside you could change seaside for albion and instead of at with? Or one way of life by the levelers there's only one team for me and that's seagulls, seagulls , seaguuuuuuulllllllsssss

Do agree with this-liked it at the Play off final but wondered why we did not use the original, why has it died out?

The original one still gets an airing from time to time.

Good to see-or is that hear, maybe we might end up going retro and harp back to the old days, either way i am sure Falmer and her atmosphere will buck the so called "Library" trend as things settle down....i think it's going to have quite a unique and buoyant feel to it.

Painter to Greer, Greer to Dunky, Dunky to Dicker, Dicker Sparrow. Sparrow to Bridcutt, Bridcutt to Nooney, Nooney Kazenga it's a goal/going up, Brighton!

Could work.

I thought home was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me.
Nimbys out to get me
That's the way it seemed.
Disappointment haunted all my dreams.

Then I saw her rise, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love, I'm a believer!
I couldn't leave her if I tried.

I thought home was more or less a given thing,
Seems the more I gave the less I got.
What's the use in tryin'?
All you get is pain.
When I needed sunshine I got rain.

Then I saw her rise, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love, I'm a believer!
I couldn't leave her if I tried.

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd write letters, forever and a day
We'd build the ground we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we are Brighton, and sure to have our way.
La la la la lala
