Was in the Northwest for that game and thought we played really well but I was only 12 at the time.

Okay - who can name all the players in view (including the hoplessly out of position Gooners keeper?)

*we'll do the crowd another time

That was a great game, Albion were robbed as I remember it. A draw would have been fair and Richardson for Arsenal should clearly have walked before they snatched victory.

I remember going in the NE end for that game and some bloke in front of me somehow managed to vault over the turnstile and leg it into the crowd without paying. I still don't know how he did it 'cos he was quite big and yet the turnstile cubicles were very cramped.

I remember Kevin Bremner turning on a SIXPENCE in the six yard box in front of the North Stand - and then screwing his shot shittingly wide. :nono:

Think I was in the South Stand for that game. Was that the promotion season, last game against Brizzie Rovers? God my memory's shot.

I was sitting in the West Stand that day with my brother and my Dad about 10 seats along. I was about 10-11

Yep, the last game was against Bristol Rovers where we clinched promotion behind champions Sunderland with (I think) a 2-1 win, Nelson and Bremner on the scoresheet.

But does anyone remember the Rovers player falling over? Back then at the last home game of the season they had this board advertising something which was in conjuction with the player-of-the-season award infront of the tunnel. It was tied and pegged to the ground much like a tent and when the Bristol players came out one of them tripped over the ties. Made me laugh anyway.

Albion & England forever.

Cheeky, yes it was. That was one hell of a season, fourth round of the cup, having beaten Northampton, Brentford and Bournemouth then getting promoted on the last day at home to Bristol Rovers.

We gave a very good Arsenal team a run for their money, as I recall they scored just before half time, we scored just after and they hit their winner about 10 minutes from the end.

It was actually only just about 18 and 3 months years ago as it was played in January 1988.

I was there, tremedous memories. Was a few months short of my 13th Birthday, went wearing just my Spall tracksuit and got very cold, remember feeling very ill later that night at my cousins 13th birthday party. I didn't have any jelly and ice cream that night.

I remember running battles with Arsenal fans heading back into Hove to find our car, they seemed to be attacking people at random trying to get a reaction, just seemed totally pointless to me.
