Hughton's reign at Norwich is a bizarre chapter in his managerial history. Reading all the bile-laden words written by Norwich fans about him and his brand of football is completely at odds with everywhere else he's been and I just can't equate their Hughton as the same person we've got. You go onto a Brum, Newcastle or Spurs forum and there's so much love for him and that's the man I recognise.
That's why I'm curious about next year and how Hughton will approach each game. What is telling is that video of him addressing the Brighton staff where he talks about getting players with skill but also the right type of player. Perhaps Norwich had too many egos in the dressing room and Hughton was unable to impose his way of playing and his ideals onto the team.
For many reasons but not least for CH's sake I hope we stay up next season and play some good football along the way so that all those Norwich fans who go on about his limitations can finally be put in their place. It genuinely upsets me when I see them slagging him off!
He followed Paul Lambert who had won two Promotions back to back. That was his only crime. They thought they were better than they were and that they should be a top 10 PL team. I asked a mate of mine who is a Massive Norwich fan, who he wanted as Manager when they sacked Alex Neil - He said '' Chris Hughton but I am probably in a minority of 1 because the others would probably rather drop to League 1 again, than admit they were wrong''
