The current Israeli government are an issue. Don't forget though that Israel were prepared to offer a very good deal for the Palestinians when Clinton was President, and Yasser Arafat walked away. It's all detailed in Clinton's memoirs. What a missed opportunity that was.

And then there was the solution that was all set to go ahead, until Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated by a fanatical Jewish guy.

There's the rub. Extremists on both sides are ruining the chance for peace, and the people on both sides are the ones suffering.

There is no right and wrong side here. It isn't that simple

i'm not at all sure about Netanyahu.

Rocket numbers are not the big issue , it’s the intent . Hamas have launched approx 3,500 rockets at Israel . Somewhere between 150-200 have misfired and landed within the Gaza Strip , killing an unknown number of people .

Israel’s Iron Dome system has shot down approx 85-90% of the rockets launched into Israel .

The argument that because the Palestinian casualties are higher , Israel is being too heavy handed is ludicrous. Hamas has since the last war increased its Rocket capability and they can know reach the major city of Tel Aviv . That is completely unacceptable to Israel as it would be to any other country . The response is to hit Hamas hard and take out as much of their weapon capability as possible within a set timeframe .

It’s ridiculous to suggest Israel are just throwing missiles at Gaza of course they are not they are doing all they can to target Hamas .

If they weren’t the Palestinian death rate would be in the tens of thousands in such a crowded area over a 2 week period not 200 ! Israeli airforce is more powerful than the UK’s .

Still struggling to find the 'other' side of the argument from you.

Netanyahu's is what you get when you fail to reach agreement with a moderate leadership, the Camp David meeting gave Palestinians most of what they wanted then Arafat started making outrageous demands. As Turkey's don't vote for Xmas so terrorists don't vote for peace. Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Good to see the usual anti semites gathered in one place though. It’s stuff like this that gets people through lockdown.

I wouldn't confuse " Anti Semitism " with " Anti Israeli Government Policy "

I see absolutely nothing wrong with Tomer Hemed's goal celebration.

However , the Israeli Prime Minister, much like Donald Trump is clinging on to Power in Israel by the skin of his teeth. He knows that as soon as he loses Power in Israel he is likely to go to Jail for Bribery and Corruption charges that are pending.

These " Military Interventions " are as much about him showing he is " Tough on Hamas " to hang on to Power to save his own ass from being thrown in jail.

Unfortunately there are very many who cannot understand the difference between being an anti zionist and an anti semite. This includes the majority of the parliamentary Labour party when it undertook its crusade against Corbyn.

It really is possible to oppose the state of Israel and its policies without hating and opposing Judaism and those who practice it.

First time ever that I've been in a video conference and someone's had to leave because the air (missile) raid sirens have gone off. One of the airborne data acquisition companies we work with has an office in TA. Kinda scary!!

Indeed. When I was driven around Jerusalem by an old pal of mine (ex mossad) I recived quite a tirade against the Israeli government of the time. He was also particularly vehement about what he called 'the workshy ***** with the absurd clothes'.

However Corbyn was a serial platform sharer with dodgy Islamists, and pointedly refused to condemn antisemitism specifically, even cocking up his apology after Starmer defenestrated him. So it wouldn't surprise me if Corbyn doesn't know the difference between anti Israel Government and antisemitism.

Errrr ..... Palestine was carved up by the USA, UK and allies to CREATE Israel. Israel returned the favour by murdering British soldiers and persecuting the Palestinians. That's without taking into account their use of banned weapons, ignoring UN mandates and killing those they don't like abroad while using fake BRITISH passports to make it look like we did it. The state of Israel is nohting more than a terrorist state - it's just lucky it's supported by the USA because every US president is too cowardly to deal with them. Now if you're an Arab country with the cheek to annex land .... well that results in a war ( i.e. Iraq with Kuwait ) but of course that's because cowards only pick fights they can win.

Would you say that the real reason the USA supports Israel is not that they are cowards but more that they want a foothold in the middle east? Genuine question by the way

What a vile and unbalanced individual that presenter is.

I was thinking the same thing. Even the headline of 'this photo is all you need to know' is a load of b0llocks. Nothing this complicated or persistent can be summed up in one photo. Same if the photo was of the result of one bomb landing on either side.

It's like showing a bomb blast site of Berlin in WW2 and saying 'this is all you need to know about WW2'. Same with a photo of London in the Blitz.

Vile and nasty media man. Incidentally I thought the British interviewer was much better even though he was taken the piss out of.

A fair question and a good one. IMHO, and I'm bound to get shot down for this, it's because the Jewish business community has a huge influence over the US government. I don't like mentioning the Jewish influence as it's the Israeli government doing the killing but I do think that it has an affect on US policy towards the Middle East.

You fire rockets at Israeli towns and settlements at your peril. While going to extreme lengths to avoid civilian casualties, their default modus operandi is 'an eye for an eye'. Their people's very existence depends on defending themselves against enemies who would happily sweep them into the sea, and who have tried and failed to do so on many occasions. Israel would like nothing more than to live peaceably with its neighbours. Except its neighbours don't want that. Which means Israel has to defend itself

It isn't though, is it?

It's more 'twelve eyes, six hearts, fourteen severed heads and a liver, for an eye'.

We all the real reason this has flared up again, Israeli settlers and government needing an excuse to continue taking land and houses that are not there's, encroaching further into Palestinian land.
It will settle down, and Israel will have settled more land for the ever growing population.

wrong.

‘The Jewish business community has a huge influence over the US Government.’ I don’t know what to say really about your vile anti semitism. I also don’t know why the mods have not stepped in.

Its neither news or all that controversial - in or outside Jewish communities - to say that AIPAC has a significant influence over US politicans. It is a very strong lobby organisation.

You do realise Israel is the ONLY Democratic country in the Middle East.
