Its quite funny reading this thread because what people were saying about Alex Revell read James Scowcroft for us and guess what he has been the outstanding player in both of our opening two games and all of a sudden the detractors are not quite so vocal! Revell's goal against Rotherham was a corker and by all accounts he played pretty well the other night also, Scowcroft in teo games has not lost one ball in the air and his leading of the line and set up play has been first class. Just goes to show us fans do not know as much as we like to think we do!

The monkey's right you know. The rest of you know shit.:D

And what's the betting you were one of the Revell detractors on here, its YOU who knows Jack Shit fella! :lolol:

Absolutely not. If you are really bored and there is nothing better to do in Croydon today, feel free to go back and read every Revell thread on here. Find one word of critism of the boy from me and I will dance naked bar a Palace thong, through the streets of Croydon.

I actually agreed with you first post BTW. I was reinforcing your view that generally the fans are less well-informed that they like. I simply chose to jokingly suggest that I was an exception.

Not entirely sure why you took offence at that? Londoners, eh?!

Mate i never take offence seriously your post was funny. And for the record i don't and never have lived in Croydon it seems a common thought on here that every Palace fan comes from Croydon! We come from far and wide fella as living in Sussex you will know! ;)

I come FROM Brighton and Hove, obviously.

Work / Marriage has taken me into exile, unfortunately.

Could have been worse though. Marriage for my brother has landed him in Wallington, deep in the heart of enemy territory.:)

I DID go saturday you prick...I go to almost every game I can so I can have an opinion about this whether you or anyone else likes it or not - after all isn't that what this message board is about? expressing opinions!!!!

I am not one of those however who will go out of their way to boo players at a game unlike some on here I know of! And that's despite my contempt for Mcghee's tactics and most of his signings!

I desperately hope that Alex Revell and to that matter McGhee prove me wrong this season and I for one in May when the season finishes will stand up and say I was wrong, but be f***ing pleased about it!

If however, come the end of the season, Revell has become another Maheta Molango which I am guessing will be the case from having seen him play in the past for Cambridge, then what happens? I gain nothing from being right, instead, all that happens is that you lot will turn on him like you have with CKR, Hammond, Mayo, Butters and other players in the past!!!

I rest my case m'lud!

Oh and Sneaky George - it'd be wise to think about what you write before making assumptions!
Ok you saw him play at Rotherham. I hold my hands up and say sorry. But then, like everyone who was there, you have to agree he played very well. In that light, your original post looks even more bizarre. Everyone else seems impressed with his start apart from you. Are you still sticking with your "we are f***ed" line ?

I've been away for a while and have just found out we signed Alex Revell.

Well I have a friend who lives in Cambridge who is a Cambridge Utd supporter and when I stayed up at his digs, we went to a few Cambridge games.

The only thing I can say about this is....WE ARE f***ed!!!!

This guy makes McCammon look like Hernan Crespo!!

I'm always one for giving people chances, but i'm sorry we may as well have tried to re-sign Teddy Maybank, Mike Ferguson and Gerry Armstrong - they all have more pace!

I am worried!

But still, according to Mcghee and Knight he is one for the future so we'll be off loading him in November to Lincoln City!
Yeah, but Teddy wasn't at it first time round don't forget.

Was pretty gash today.

Eaxtly the same as in the other games, probably better than he was on Tuesday actually

and people think he is good?

Yeah, I reckon most would think he's worth his place, he's not the Sam Parkin type who's going to fire us with a 20-goal haul and promotion but in lieu of that he will work hard for the cause and contribute, and he has done so in the 7pts out of 9. He was unlucky today as few if any goal chances fell his way but he did his job on the right effectively.

I guess that would sum him up well - however isnt that what Hart is for?
Im not going to just judge him on 1 game but he as no better than Mcphee today.

Rubbish - sadly, I'd say he's already contributed about as much as McPhee ever did in three games, plus he's getting fitter - he has looked knackered in the last 10-15 mins but after playing for Braintree, that's to be expected and I imagine will improve.
