Plenty of positives from yesterday, I think you're all overreacting, and the booing was qutre frankly disgusting, given the impressive and commited performance the players had just given, only to find lady luck just wasn't on their side.
Tommy Fraser was outstanding, and has surely cemented his place in the team for the next few weeks alongside the equally impressive Steve Thomson, who looks like a shrewd acquasition, with a wide range of passing and ball skills. The return of El-abd, who was magnificent in dealing with much pressure from Walsall in the second half, will surely come as a welcome boost to our play-off hopes.
Dean Cox and Jake Robinson look like fantastic prospects for the future, Wilkins really should be applauded for the work he has done with those two, lots of running and crosses which would have created lots of goals on another day with luck on our side. Fantastic entertainment for the Withdean faithful though, surely?
Then there's Glenn Murray. Tony Bloom, thank you, thank you, thank you. Definitely our best player since Zamora, maybe even better in the long run. His hard work and 'never say die' attitude are something that the youngsters will look up to. He'll be in the goals again soon with committed performances like that, mark my words.
Adam Virgo - again, what a signing. What a coup! He's really boosted the midfield with his hard tackling and dribbling ability. Only the marvellous performances from Fraser will keep him out of the team. He was unlucky not to score too.
Finally, Gary Hart. Why, it was like watching the 'OGH' of 1998 again yesterday. He hasn't lost any of his pace, and his crossing and finishing ability seems to be as accurate as it always was. What an Albion legend. I'll be disappointed if we don't keep him on as coach when he retires.
Yes, definitely a case of an unfortunate Albion performance yesterday - we put the work in, but weren't helped by the referee and couldn't quite nick the 3 points. Keep that up though, and the goals will come and we'll be in the play-offs for sure. Don't be surprised to see us turn over Man City on Wednesday night either! Keep the faith.
Oh, and on an unrelated theme, can I just praise the moderation of this site recently. I'm only an occassional reader/contributor, but it was good to see last night that there really is a clear framework of rules for NSCers to obey, and that Mods won't refrain from dishing out appropriate punishments for such ridiculous contributions, regardless as to whether they are coming from fellow admins or disheartened fans. Keep it up.
