Both put in a lot of effort, both rarely score. So how come the majority think Hart should be in the team and McPhee shouldn't?

Because Hart will tackle back and is quick. Still makes him a winger not a striker!

In an ideal world neither would be in a Championship team. OGH was one of the few good things about a trip to Gillingham but would struggle to get a look in today if we had up to standard strikers. McPhee has never really made it as a 1st teamer anyway.

Because he can put in a performance like he did against Leeds.

Mcphee can hold the ball up and OGH can't but that doesn't seem to stop people thinking he is a better option up front.

I still say its weird that none of our forward line seems to be able to score. I do think that it is our midfield, they just aren't supplying that telling ball. Thus how many times do we see them going wide to support?

Just watching West Ham yesterday was a good lesson in the way midfield should supply.

McCammon is right, sadly.

Of course, OGH can hold the ball up, and can dribble (stop it...), and has awareness of others around him (something McPhee doesn't really have).

Prepares for flaming, but I think OGH has many qualities required of a central midfielder a la Dennis Wise.

Indeed. The amount of decent crosses put into the box is embarrassing - Frutos will put over a couple, but you're unlikely to get much from Carole. Much-maligned though our strikers are, this has an awful lot to do with the service they get.

Bloody hell! I'm inclined to agree with you.

I disagree with the first half but do agree with the second half. He is not as intelligent a footballer as Wise but he is combative, can pass, quick and has a lot of energy.

Does the amount of crosses matter when we have no height in the box?

Hart gives 110% effort every game even if he doesn't get a kick, he's also got that nice edge to his game where you never know what's going to happen next (probably a red card).

but mcphee has never really had a good game at the club in three or four years. He simply isn't good enough. Hart may not be the best in the world but played a part in our three promotions and in keeping us up last year.

Personally I'm not sure i'd start him up front but you can't even compare him and Mcphee.

At work - probably
McPhee seemed to put himself back into contention with his hat trick for the reserves the other week - but only gets about 30 mins in one of the recent away games my memory serves me correct - and that's it - not even on the bench since!

I dunno I'm like everyone on here, I love to see OGH play 'cos he's an albion legend and gives 200%...however he ain't gonna get the goals at this level - nor is McPhee. We are unlikely to see Big Mac again, and Jake needs to be loaned out to a league 1/2 club to get his confidence back IMHO. Gatting is probably too young (although he is pretty bulk and looks like he could handle himself)....that leaves El-Turi and CKR.

I have only seen El Turi for about 20 mins against Reading and I thought he looked okay - I really think he should be given a couple of games. As for CKR sometimes he looks like the new Bobby (Zamora - not Kennedy!), sometimes he looks like Leon (the stroppy moaning version not the 27 goals version!)

I would put McPhee at the bottom of our list of failed strikers, even behind McCammon, as I think that he would struggle playing for Crawley. For me, and I have said football is a game of opinions, he has absolutely nothing that would benefit BHA.
