Let's just nip some of these comments in the bud.

1) it doesn't need to be a clear and obvious error for an offside. All goals are assessed for offside, clear and obvious only applies to fouls/serious foul play.

2) the line is drawn to the shoulder which is above the elbow.

That being said: f*** this anti-football decision.

It was marginally offside most likely, probably, could have been.

Joke, it's off Dunks little finger. Line also looked bent!

It’s probably not drawn from his hand. Likely they drew it from a different camera angle to position the line, then flicked back to that one to show where he was in relation to the goal and defenders. Not sure how often it needs to be explained that they don’t just draw a line from a still picture and guess… it’s calibrated via a combination of cameras. We just get to see one still image.

That said, it’s the type of ludicrously tight, bullshit offside decision that only VAR comes up with. A lino with a flag would give the benefit of the doubt in that scenario which is far more in keeping with the spirit of the law.

They clearly say it should be the shoulder (which is anything above the elbow)……. Super clear right!? But well why draw it off our player’s finger then?

Also that debate alone took more than 4 minutes. So where is the added time?

The line should be drawn from the black stripe on Dunk’s left shoulder. It looks to be drawn a lot further forward than that.
