Well the first part is sadly accurate. Not quite as easy as predicting a Sussex collapse, but still, worryingly, I don't think anyone is ultra-surprised.

It seems not even Chris Woakes can save us now.

So you're saying that instead of playing Roy and Denly, we should have played the test quality top order batsmen who've been flaying the bowling in County Cricket?

So, back to square one. Roy is still not suitable as a test opener and Denly isn’t a number 3.
