Would Brazil even bother appealing, I wonder?
As it stands, he's been booked twice therefore misses the next (meaningless) game and starts the knockout phase again with a clean slate.
If they appealed successfully, he'd be able to play in the next match, but still be on one yellow card, thus would be liable to be suspended for a more important second round knockout game if he picked up another one.
I think Brazil might just swallow this one, though FIFA may well act independently of any appeal, purely (and hopefully) to sort out that cheating Ivory Coast player.
Total embarrassment to football that was.
