fork me
I have changed this
How come he had time to work for the BBC over the weekend but not to give to the disciplinary? Can't see the club being impressed with that
Did you even read the statement?

So.........what's this thread about then
Of course, the employer has hauled up it's employee on a serious misconduct charge and the union has played it's opening gambit in an pretty poor attempt to gain the moral high ground that has nevertheless mesmerised the numbskulls on here
How I read it is they got the particularised version on the 13th i.e the specifics of each charge.
This is not to be confused with the 500 page document that the LMA said in their statement is made up of lengthy appendices anyway and they have been sitting on before the 13th.
In other words they and Gus would have already known what the charges were and 4 days to read the specifics is ample in the clubs eye's.
Why was there a financial offer made which Gus refused?
Some explained this financial offer as the club asked Gus to pay. Now we know that the document was not given to Gus until AFTER the financial payment was turned down, the chances of this being true is very slim.
The most plausible answer is - he has no case to answer and to keep this in house pay him off. He obviously feels let down by the club and has refused as he wants to clear his name. Which anyone would do if you know you have done nothing wrong.
As I have said before, I do not want Gus back. Why? Because the club has made sure whatever the outcome of the investigation the fans will not want him back. A fantastic manager not perfect at all, we all know he made errors, was stubborn, plan b was lacking and said things he shouldn't. But for all that in my eyes he was a great manager for our club and would eventually get us to where he wanted us to be. I do believe the guy to blame for all this is Barber, he clashed with Poyet he wanted rid and he wants to make sure that the fans want rid. Thats the bit I do not understand, Poyet and the team managed to silence kevtherev for so long but after a bit of spin from Mr Barber, Poyet is the bad guy before we even know what the allegations are or if they are true.
Not sure why everyone is obsessed with his TV appearance. He was working. Completely irrelevant.
Irrelevent, the 500 page document still needs to be read, digested and replied to. Even without that, 4 days is not sufficient time to reply to the original document. I've been a Union rep and there's no way I would have accepted a mere 4 days when a member's job was on the line.
To be fair, union reps are usually bombastic twats anyway, so one being a bumptious, inflexible arse is not surprising now is it?
The option of a negotiated departure is always available. As is usually the case when football managers leave before a contract is up.
Can anyone clarify - is this sort of thing usually sorted out between lawyers, or could it go to tribunal? if the latter, it could take months.

The one thing that strikes me in all of this is the club obviously want Gus out, and I'd stay its fairly obvious we have someone already lined up, waiting in the wings to take over, but who ?
This whole affair is starting to leave a bad taste with a lot of fans, and if the club now employ someone who's a bit rubbish, the club may just cop a fair bit of flack over it ?

Opening gambit? What a clueless comment. No employee wirth an ounce of sense would go into a disciplinary hearng on a day when their rep wasn't available. No-one should be expected to have just one weekend to read, digest and reply to 500 pages of report either. The union won't have put anything that isn't true into a public statement like that because if they did it would come back at them.
